Afternoon at the park

Camryn and I had such a great time at the park this afternoon. There is a paved loop that we usually walk around first (well I walk, Camryn rides in BOB), and then we play on the playground. One section of the loop is a bridge that crosses over a shallow but large pond full of turtles. The turtles were especially friendly today, and Camryn LOVED watching them swim below us in the water. In fact, when we left the bridge to continue our walk, she yelled "Bye-bye, see you later" (Bye-bye-bye-der) blew kisses to the turtles until they were out of sight. She shocked me when we got to the playground by walking up to the part we usually play on, climbing up all of the stairs on her own, and sliding down the slide! We have been frequenting this particular playground since she learned to walk, and she has always wanted me to hold her hand and help her the entire time. Last time we were there, I convinced her to go down the slide with me holding on to her, and she was less than thrilled. I could not believe my eyes today when she did it all on her own. I am so proud of my little BIG girl!!!
Apparently she is also capable of climbing UP the slide...all the way to the top! She found some sunglasses that someone else had left behind: And tried them on for size: It is so exciting and rewarding to see Camryn's confidence continue to grow. She is becoming independent in so many ways, and Andy and I could not be any prouder of our little Princess! Can't wait to see what tomorrow will bring...
