Survived the first trip!

I survived my first trip away from Camryn! It was tough to leave, but once I left it was not too bad. Andy played the role of "super-dad" and did a fantastic job. I came home to a clean, happy baby, a house that was still standing, and even clean dishes :-). Pumping breastmilk while traveling was a challenge, but I made it work.

Camryn had a friend over this weekend (Hayes), and we all went to the Lazy Daze festival in Cary. We had a great time until the sky opened up and poured buckets of rain on us. The girls stayed dry in their BOBs...Andy and I got soaked! It rained the rest of the afternoon, so we stayed inside and took it easy.
Here are Camryn and Hayes on the way to the festival:
And Andy, after the storm:
Once we got back home...Camryn was more much interested in checking out Hayes' playmat skills than playing with her own toys:
Last week I started home-making baby food for Camryn (sweet potato, carrot, and mango), and she got to try the carrots last night. She *thinks* she likes them (the jury is still out):

We all have head colds (yes, even Camryn), and Andy is headed out of town this afternoon. Camryn and I will be laying low and trying to get better :-) Just for fun, look what I could see out my front door last week:

Happy Monday!

Get ready...I've been snapping pictures like crazy this week!

We spent last weekend working in the yard yet again. Those of you who have seen our backyard know that there is a section where red mud abounds and grass refuses to grow. We gave up and turned it into a mulched garden, which we are very pleased with. Here are the during and after pictures:

Worn out from all the yard work, we just took it easy on Sunday afternoon. We hung around the house for a while, then made it over to Dre and Tammy's to take a dip in the pool:
And, I have been meaning to do this for a while: post an update on the vegetable garden. Remember the raised beds we built along the deck when I was ultra-pregnant?! The vegetables we planted in them are growing very well:
Camryn is doing better with the bottle now. I slaved away all weekend pumping so that we could bottle feed more. I think it worked. She likes to flirt with her Dad when he feeds her:
Isn't she precious?!

Looking at me upside down:
And a couple more cute ones:

Sitting up like a big girl...

Headed to KY tomorrow for work...my first trip away from Camryn! Baby and Daddy get a whole 24 hours together without mom...poor me! :-P

Another week gone by

I can hardly believe it is already Friday! We have had a somewhat eventful week...busy with work and trying to overcome Camryn's decision to resist drinking from a bottle. After a few different types of bottles and a lot of positive energy, I think she has settled down and is thinking that maybe they are ok after all (even though she still makes it clear that she KNOWS it is an impostor...hehehe).

We went to North Hills to see the Craig Woolard Band on Thursday night with Nana and Papa, and Camryn was a big hit. As was Andy, since he was walking around wearing the Bjorn carrier.

Getting ready to go:

Our Family:

We stayed until after Camryn's bedtime, and she started getting silly:
Dads are so funny!

Dads have milk too, right?!

Like I mentioned in the last post, C has been loving eating fruits in her mesh feeder. I snapped a few pictures of her tonight:
MMMMMMMangos!
After the mesh feeder, the little princess is always a big sticky mess, which takes us to bath time:
And finally, Camryn's absolute favorite toy right now:
TGIF...Have a great weekend...Love to all! Goodnight!
